Site/Soil Description:

  • Located on a bench adjoining the Priest River.
  • Receives about 83.8 cm of ppt annually.
  • Mean annual temperature is 6.6°C.
  • Habitat type was classified as Tsuga heterophylla/Clintonia uniflora.
  • Soil was classified as Ochreptic Fragixeralf - Mission series. Silt loam surface 28-38 cm thick, is silty clay loam derived from lacustrine sediments. Soil is underlain with 60-100 cm of gravelly to very gravelly sands and sandy loams deposited by alluvial processes.
